Richard Fenwick is a multi-award-winning writer/director with a particular passion for sci-fi and thrillers. He has a slate of features in advanced development including sci-fi SLOW LIGHT (supported by Creative England / BFI NET.WORK) sci-fi LIFELIKE and thriller SILENCE.

Richard’s latest film is a sci-fi short for BFI Network called SOULMATE starring Mandeep Dhillon and Joe Dempsie. His other films includes BBC comedy short ALBERT’S SPEECH, Jaime Winstone starrer, LOVE LETTER and festival favourites ARTIFICIAL WORLDS and SAFETY PROCEDURES. He is also the director of many music videos for Timo Maas, Death in Vegas, Muse and more.

His work has screened at over 100 film festivals worldwide, won numerous awards (Hamburg, Cortolovre, IFTC) and he was chosen as a Screen International ‘Star of Tomorrow’. He was selected for Cross Channel Film Lab, Think, Shoot, Distribute and NET.WORK@LFF.

Richard Fenwick’s training in graphic and broadcast design has served him well as a director. Having already made a mark in promos, he has recently moved on to shorts. His animated shorts What We’ve Found Out About Stem Cells and Safety Procedures are playful films informed by a sharp wit. His move to live action with The Box, Artificial Worlds V.3.0 and Love Letter showcase his sure command of horror, kinetic sci-fi and compelling romantic drama. All have won awards at international festivals.
